Old School Craftsman at the Wyoming Fall Festival
If you know the Old School Craftsman team, then you know that we love Wyoming, Ohio. A small town located north of Cincinnati, Wyoming is a place for family, fun, good food, and local culture.
We have done projects in Wyoming before, including the Victorian Porch Restoration, and were pleased by the number of townsfolks who stopped by to ask questions and discuss the project.
Here is a picture of the Victorian porch remodel in its finished state.
When the Wyoming Historical Society extended an invitation to Old School Craftsman to host a booth at the 40th Annual Wyoming Fall Festival this October, it was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.
The Fall Festival is a huge hit in Wyoming, and it features all sorts of different vendors, tasty foods, artisans, and local agencies. It is hosted by the Wyoming Historical Society and our team was incredibly honored to not only attend but to host a booth too.
Our booth was right in the center of the action, among the bouncy houses, delicious food (we may have tried a little ourselves), and other local businesses.
Maybe you stopped by and saw us. If so, we were pleased to have you there. If not, this blog will recap what you missed and what our team had to offer.
Wyoming Fall Fest: A Story in Pictures
Trish, Brendon, and I were proud to host a booth in this year’s Wyoming Fall Fest. If you don’t know, it is an annual fall festival designed to help promote local Wyoming businesses and is an event that the whole community gets excited about.
While there we handed out official Old School Craftsman merch and goodie bags, including water bottles, coffee mugs, and rulers.
We were pleased to collaborate with the Wyoming Historical Society during this event. One was in collaboration with our team at Old School Craftsman, and the other was showing off the slideshow of the Victorian Porch remodel.
This was the 40th anniversary of the Wyoming Fall Fest, and more than 100 artists, crafters, vendors, and community organizations participated.
We had a huge turnout, with thousands of people, both locals and out-of-towners, coming to enjoy the music, food, sights, and sounds of Wyoming.
Here are some highlights from this year’s Fall Fest:
- The Flying Cloud Academy Vintage Dance Troupe performance at Crescent Park Stage
- Free Petting Zoo
- Fine Arts Center performance at Crescent Park Stage
- The Cincinnati Music Village performance at Crescent Park Stage
- Noah Smith performance at Crescent Park Stage
A Special Thank You to the Wyoming Historical Society
Before we wrap this blog post up, we want to take a moment to extend a huge thank you to the Wyoming Historical Society for not only putting on this event, but for also sharing their space with us, and giving the Old School Craftsman team a chance to talk about the work we do.
Our whole team feels that the preservation of old buildings, especially in towns like Wyoming, is important, and the Wyoming Historical Society plays a key role in ensuring the past is preserved in the best way possible. Their mission to preserve the rich history of Wyoming aligns seamlessly with our own goals.
We would like to take a moment to extend a special thank you to Sherry Sheffield who serves as historian, accessionist, and archivist, for the Wyoming Historical Society. We would also like to thank Catherine Ramstetter, who serves as a board member of the Historical Preservation Commission. Sherry and Catherine, you both were a huge part of why Old School Craftsman was able to participate in this event. So, thank you!
The partnership between Old School Craftsman and the Wyoming Historical Society not only enriched our festival experience, but it also gave us an opportunity to contribute to a cause that we hold dear.
So again, thank you Wyoming Historical Society for all that you do, and we hope to work with you again next year!
